Emma Huepfl appointed as new Commercial Property Forum Chairperson

Emma has over thirty years’ experience in the UK commercial property markets, having previously established two independent businesses managing bank and institutional capital investing into UK real estate debt.  She was Co-Head of the EMEA Credit platform of CBRE Investment Management from 2019-2022, where she also served on the firm’s Global Investment Committee. Her industry service includes nine years as a board member for CREFC, the trade body for the real estate finance industry, which she chaired between 2019 and 2021. She is a current non-executive board member of April Mortgages Ltd. 

Attendees of the Forum, which meets quarterly, come from the commercial property sector. They include, but are not limited to investors, developers, lenders, valuers, agents, advisers, analysts and academics, as well as other experts and commentators.

The forum was set up in in 1993 and works alongside the Residential Property Forum. Both Forums help inform the work of the Financial Policy Committee to maintain financial stability in the UK. The CPF provides insight on developments in the commercial property sector.

Emma Huepfl said:

“It’s a privilege to be appointed as Chair of the Commercial Property Forum and I will be working to apply my experience and draw upon a broad network of market participants to support the work of the Bank of England during a time of change and challenge for the commercial property market and its stakeholders.”

Emma was appointed in an open process, will start with immediate effect and serve for three years. She replaces Marc Mogull who recently finished his term.
